Kappa Phi is a national organization for Christian women, which focuses on four areas: service, sisterhood, Bible study, and worship. In 2006 the Beta Delta chapter of Kappa Phi was reinstated at the University of Central Oklahoma and meets every Monday at the Wesley Foundation at 7:45 PM. We welcome any college women that are seeking a way to serve, grow closer to God, and share their faith. Some of the activities that we have done in the past are retreats, movie nights, remodeling a home and church nursery, prayer partners, Bible studies focused on women of the Bible and much more!
Sara James, a member of Kappa Phi for four years, shares her experience with Kappa Phi. “To me Kappa Phi is more than just another organization on campus, it is family. Before coming to college I was afraid I would be without a community to help me grow in my relationship with God and share my faith, and Kappa Phi has met those needs. It has been wonderful to have a group of friends to share the struggles and joys of college with, being at the Kappa Phi meetings can be a great escape from the craziness of college life. Being a part of Kappa Phi has given me countless opportunities in leadership and service and helped me open my mind and heart to the many ways to glorify God. My faith has been stretched through learning and growing with my Kappa Phi sisters. I can honestly say that my college experience would not have been anywhere near as wonderful as it has been without Kappa Phi. My Kappa Phi sisters are truly a blessing.”
In spring of 2010 the Beta Delta chapter was excited to receive the “Most Improved Chapter” award out of chapters from Oklahoma and Texas. Years of working to build up Kappa Phi have finally paid off, and we hope our chapter will continue to grow!
